The Many Faces of Miss Marie
This past week in writing class the kinder kiddies had to write about their favorite teacher. The assignment was to write a paragraph describing their favorite teacher on the "tongue" provided in the book. Most of the kids wouldn't let me see their paragraphs because they were writing about me and wanted me to be surprised. It was really really cute. Then they had to draw the teacher's head with the mouth open and attach the tongue to the open mouth. I drew them a face template with an open mouth and they had to add eyes, hair and defining features to make the face look like their teacher that they chose. 7 of my 9 children picked me as their favorite teacher so now my classroom has a small army of Miss Marie faces, hahahaha.
In art this week we decorated the classroom for Valentine's Day. My kids had a lot of fun making hearts to stick all over the windows. I taught them how to fold paper and draw half a heart so they could have symmetrical hearts. Some even got inventive and made cupids or cut out designs for their hearts! It was fun.
I've been taking a lot of pictures in class this week because I know I only have a short time left with my kids before they graduate. They graduate in just under two weeks. I only have one more speech class and one more art class with them. I've also been videotaping them singing some of our favorite songs. I figure it will be nice to have the memories later in life when I want to talk about my wonderful experience teaching in Korea :) I love these kids so much!!
